I'm gonna place this band in the ‘work in progress’ category. I’m willing to bet their live show absolutely rocks balls, but they haven’t quite figured out how to make that translate to disc yet. This isn’t the old “the cd doesn’t capture their energy” comment (hell, maybe it is, I didn’t think I was that trite, maybe I am…sorry about that.) I feel they just have to work at getting comfortable during the recording process, and find a way to engage the listener without being on stage. I’m not trying to be overcritical of the album- the songs are good, the guitar parts are cool, and overall the band rocks- no question about that. It’s just a matter of them figuring out how to connect the dots in the studio, and that takes practice.

I’m going to keep my eye on these guys, and make damn sure I catch one of their shows the next time I’m in the Midwest. I encourage you to do the same. I have a feeling I won’t be disappointed, and I personally can’t wait to hear the next record from these guys.
