Artist: Sebastian Bach
CD Name: ANGEL DOWN
Artist Site: Sebastian Bach

Welcome back, Sebastian Bach! But wait, he's not back, he never left the music scene after his departure from Skid Row, forging a career of his own and becoming a household name to millions of VH1 viewers. Surprising, even his most ardent non-supporters, Baz starred and succeeded in three Broadway productions, most notably as the lead in Jekyll & Hyde.

Regardless of years of band changes, it is not shocking that this epitome of a rock frontman and metal screamer could record a CD of this quality. Angel Down proves that Bach's voice, is still unmistakable and has only gotten better after two decades in the business. His ability to switch his voice from from seductive to growling is as impressive as ever.

By Your Side, an impressive ballad, could be the perfect summer love song to incite kids who have lost metal, find it again. Duets with Axl Rose, possibly the only other singer with a comparable vocal reach, absolutely ROCK and most notably the cover of Aerosmith's tune with one glaring spelling mistake. This CD should be named BACH In The Saddle Again.

Artist: Jessy J
CD Name: Tequila Moon
Artist Site: Jessy J

Astounding! Jessy J has blown me away with Tequila Moon. Expecting bubble-gum pop from a young beautiful girl such as Jessy J, I couldn't have been more wrong and more thrilled.

The beauty of her soulful saxophone fills the room and your heart. Jessy's voice is as smooth as the music she plays. Backed by an impressive lineup of seasoned musicians, Jessy J could easily stand on her own talent. I wish I could pick a favorite from this impressive disc, but it's impossible, each piece is beauty in and of itself.

Artist: Mitch and the Polecats
CD Name: Naked
Artist Site: Mitch and the Polecats

What caught my eye: the disc, designed to look like an old fashioned record. What caught my ear: southern-styled music from a Chicago band, completely unexpected but thorougly enjoyable.

What bugs my kids: that I can't stop singing Nice Day

Easy-listening album with songs fun to sing, Mitch and the Polecats has delivered an awesome CD. Occasionally Eric Clapton-esque, always catchy, Naked is well worth buying the whole album and not just a few songs here and there.

A nice surprise: having just survived a summer deafened by the cicadas that swarm the city on a 17-year cycle, the extra track on the disc MATC Secret is a nice tongue-in-cheek salute to Mitch And The Polecats's hometown.
